Designed for business and professional use, the 1203
provides position, velocity, time and integrity (PVT&I)
data to a Terrain Awareness Warning System (TAWS),
an integrated Flight Management System (FMS) or a
Navigation Management System (NMS). The 1203 navigates
worldwide by processing Global Positioning System
(GPS) and Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) signal
data, when available. The system utilizes an ARINC
429 interface for easy integration into an FMS or
NMS.
The 1203 GPS/WAAS Sensor meets
the ADS-B requirements for PVT sensor accuracy and
integrity in all regions of the world. When combined
with a data link such as the FreeFlight Systems 978
MHz Data Radio, the 1203 WAAS Class 1 Sensors are
an efficient and affordable ADS-B Out solution for
helicopter and business jet operators. An alternate
solution combines a certified Mode S transponder with
our 1203 GPS/SBAS Sensor, to offer operators a simple
means to outfit their aircraft with a compliant 1090
MHz ES ADS-B Out solution.
Flying with improved situational
awareness, ADS-B provides numerous economic, safety
and environmental advantages including decreased fuel
consumption and carbon emissions, reduced separation
minimums, improved planning for arrivals and departures,
and surveillance in remote areas lacking radar coverage.
An added benefit is the precise aircraft location
information the ADS-B system communicates both to
Air Traffic Control and other nearby ADS-B equipped
aircraft.
