Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager assists the VP of Business Development and CSO in day-to-day commercial business opportunities including growth areas, trends, clients, products and services.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
      • Identify new strategic commercial business opportunities, including growth areas, trends, clients, products and services
      • Comprehend competitive landscape and identify opportunities for organizational growth
      • Seek out, engage and manage relationship with the appropriate contact in a potential client organization
      • Understand and anticipate the needs of your clients and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet those needs
      • Think strategically – seeing the bigger picture and setting aim on objectives in order to develop and improve the business
      • Work strategically – carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes
      • Meet with potential clients face to face or over the phone
      • Attend select seminars, conferences and networking events when appropriate
      • Develops and presents technical quotes and proposals to potential clients
      • Negotiate pricing, terms and other parameters with clients
      • Carry out client analysis and present your findings to senior management upon request
      • Work with Contract Manager to finalize pertinent client contracts
      • Coordinate and communicate with Director of Sales on execution of won contracts
      • Liaise with finance, engineering, production, contracts, sales department and executive staff as appropriate
      • Any additional tasks or duties as assigned by senior management
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
      • 4-year BA or BS degree preferred
      • 5 years proven track record in business sales or related market
      • Excellent organizational skills, with emphasis on priorities and goal setting
      • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Salesforce, and statistical analysis software
      • Superior presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
      • Technical skills required to understand and propose products or solutions by focusing on client requirements
