Process Engineer

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
      • Optimize, configure and provide solutions to Quality and Manufacturing processes
      • Develop control plans applying Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) utilizing process flow diagrams, system FMEAs, cause-and-effect analysis, product critical characteristics and first article inspections
      • Experienced with inspection of soldering and conformal coating of electronic circuit card assemblies using IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001
      • Resolves production and manufacturing issues on the spot while ensuring design integrity allowing production to stay on schedule and on quality
      • Facilitate a close relationship with the engineering team during the unit build, test and troubleshooting to provide process feedback
      • Provide clear communication and feedback between the engineering team, the quality team and the production floor
      • Support the transition of products from engineering development to production while maintaining critical to quality objectives
      • Work with the engineering team in response to manufacturing problems, parts obsolescence and minor requirement changes to address risk to operation and to the customer
      • Participate in design reviews and first article inspections to conduct DFM recommendations with innovative and cost-effective solutions
      • Lead efforts to uncover root-cause and develop permanent resolutions on issues found during quality control, production and testing
      • Develop process improvement plans including resources needed, timeline with critical path and milestones using project management best practices and lean manufacturing principles to achieve specified goals of yield, performance and cost
      • Generate documentation of current and improved processes using current best practices
      • Support and apply requirement of the governing FAA and AS9100 quality management systems
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
      • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
      • At least 3 years of direct experience working as a process engineer or project engineer with a focus on electronic CCAs
      • Experienced with CCA troubleshooting utilizing circuit diagrams and mechanical specifications
      • Experienced working in a regulated environment
      • Advance use of MS Excel with focus on report generation
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
      • 5 years of direct experience working as process engineer or project engineer with a focus on electronic CCAs
      • 2-3 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and verifying CCAs with SMT components with various conformal coatings
      • Solid understanding of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards
      • 2-3 years of experience working in a regulated environment such as FAA, ISO 9001 and/or AS9100
      • Application of Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP)
      • Application of lean manufacturing and process improvement principles
      • Application of project management best practices
      • Advanced use of MS Excel with focus on report generation using pivot tables and VBA
      • Experience with MS Power BI
      • Passion for advancing the current state of the art of the commercial and military aviation industries
      • Strong work ethic
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphere
      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
